To ensure protection of naval electronic systems and crew against electromagnetic \ndisturbances on board we must analyse, among other things, the shielding qualities of the materials used to build the ships. Moreover, if case of warships to protect the ship against magnetic mines.\n Within EMC field, the antidisturbing shielding solutions represents one of the most frequently used techniques of protection in present state of the art, implying a judicious choice of materials as well as of the ship construction.\n This paper focuses on the above mentioned approach, having as a starting point the short presentation of the method of shield calculus, known as method of impedances (a practical one), and the presentation of the attenuation expressions through reflection and absorption, covering the whole range of frequencies between 50 Hz to 20 GHz, common upon the civilian and military ships.\n We have analyzed some aspects concerning the near fields shielding (at low frequencies) and of far fields as well (at high frequencies).\n On the basis of these relations we aimed at establishing materials for naval electromagnetic shields, including weak magnetic warship building too.

One-dimensional transient flows of two layers immiscible fractional Maxwell fluids in a rectangular channel have been investigated. The studied problem is based on a mathematical model focused on the fluids with memory described by a constitutive equation with time-fractional Caputo derivative. In the flow domain are considered two regions namely one clear region and another filled with a homogeneous porous medium saturated by a generalized Maxwell fluid. Semi-analytical and analytical solutions to the problem with initial-boundary conditions and interface fluid-fluid conditions are determined by employing the integral transform method (the Laplace transform and the finite sine-Fourier transform). Talbot’s algorithm for the numerical inversion of the Laplace transforms has been used. The memory effects and the influence of the porosity coefficient on the fluid motion have been studied. Numerical results and graphical illustrations, obtained with the Mathcad software, have been used to analyze the fluid behavior. The influence of the memory on the fluid motion is significant at the beginning of motion and it is attenuated in time.

Study Backgroud: Raw Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) fruit juice contains substances of health benefits. . Na, K, urea and creatinine are indicies of nephrotoxicity. Overdose of amoxicillin an antibiotic could cause haemolysis, and nephrotoxicity. Aim and Objective: This work was therefore designed to evaluate plasma Na, K, urea and creatinine in rabbits given amoxicllin overdose supplemented with cucumber (Cucumis sativus) fruit juice Materials and Methods: Fifteen rabbits of the same sex weighing 0.9 – 1.4Kg divided into 3 groups of 5 rabbits each were used for the study. Group A- 5 control rabbits ; Group B –5 rabbits given 30.0mg/kgBW subcutaneous injection of amoxicillin every 24hours for 7 days which was followed by 30ml raw cucumber fruit juice supplementation for 14 days; Group C – 5 rabbits given 30.0mg/kgBW subcutaneous injection of amoxicillin every 24hours and raw cucumber fruit juice supplementation for 14 days simultaneously. Plasma K (mmol/L), Creatinine (mg/dl) and Urea (mg/dl) were determined in the rabbits biochemically by spectrophotometry using COBAS 111.. Results: There was a significant decrease in the plasma values of K (mmol/L), Creatinine (mg/dl) and Urea (mg/dl) following the administration of 30ml raw cucumber fruit juice supplementation for 14 days than when they were given 30.0mg/kgBW subcutaneous injection of amoxicillin every 24hours for 7 days with p<0.05.There was a significant increase in the plasma values of K (mmol/L), Creatinine (mg/dl) and Urea (mg/dl) following the administration 30.0mg/kgBW subcutaneous injection of amoxicillin every 24hours for 7 days than when they were given 30ml of raw cucumber fruit juice supplementation for 14 days; basal samples and also than the results obtained from the control rabbits with p<0.05.There was also a significant increase in the plasma values of K (mmol/L), following the administration of 30ml raw cucumber fruit juice supplementation for 14 days than the results obtained from the control rabbits with p<0.05. Conclusion: This work revealed possible nephrotoxicity following the administration of amoxicillin overdose as indicated by raised plasma K (mmol/L), Creatinine (mg/dl) and Urea (mg/dl) while the supplementation of raw cucumber fruit juice revealed nephroprotective and decrease in plasma K (mmol/L), Creatinine (mg/dl) and Urea (mg/dl). Raw cucumber fruit juice could be applied to reduce drug induced nephrotoxicity..
